Cathy wrote this song in memory of her high school classmate. After finding the accompaniment on a cassette tape, Christy and Sarah were able to sing it as a duet at Cathy's funeral. The song had a great impact on Katie Jo. Christy and Sarah sang it at her funeral two months later.
Stay Together
Written by Cathy Watson and Charity McLaughlin
When I was just a child,
a lifetime seemed to be forever.
And I was not alone,
'cause friends could always pull together.
Growing up together, we laughed and played
And never thought the world could ever harm us.
We had hopes and dreams and nothing in our way.
And we can make it through if we hold on to each other
We must always stay together.
Live for today
You never know who might not see tomorrow.
When things don't go your way,
You need love to help you through the sorrow.
Live what you believe you never know
When someone else just might be following your lead
Into this world of pain and suffering.
But we can make it through
If we hold on to each other
We must always stay together.
Now we've come this far,
And we will go our separate ways to meet our future.
Though the road is long,
We can spread our wings and fly out on our own.
We can make it through if we hold onto each other
We must always stay,
No matter what comes our way
We must always stay together.
